01-10-2019

The President of the Constitutional Court, Dainius Žalimas, Justice Elvyra Baltutytė, Justice Vytautas Greičius, and Justice Gediminas Mesonis participate in the trilateral meeting of the justices of the constitutional courts of the Baltic States in Riga on 1–2 October.

At the meeting, the President of the Constitutional Court, Dainius Žalimas will read the report “Human Dignity in Courts’ Case Law”, and Justice Mesonis will review the latest jurisprudence of the Constitutional Court.

Cooperation with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Latvia started as soon as it was established, i.e. in 1996. The President of the Constitutional Court, Dainius Žalimas, is pleased that the justices of the Supreme Court of Estonia are also joining the traditional bilateral meetings of Lithuanian and Latvian justices. As is traditional, the meeting in Riga will involve sharing experience, discussing topical issues of constitutional jurisprudence, and seeking ways to resolve problems arising in constitutional justice cases.
