Vladas Pavilonis (1993–2002, 1999–2002 – President, †2003)

Vladas Pavilonis was born in 1932. In 1955, he graduated from the Faculty of Law of Belarus University and worked for two years as an advocate in Belarus. In 1957 he began his work in Vilnius University, the Institute of Forensic Science, and the Advanced Training Institute. From 1976, he was an associate professor of the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, Head of the Department of Criminal Law of the same faculty. He held a PhD in law. In 1993–2002, he was a justice of the Constitutional Court, whilst, in 1999–2002, he was its President. He passed away in 2003.
