Stasys Stačiokas (1993–1996, 1999–2008)

Stasys Stačiokas was born in 1937. In 1960, upon the graduation from the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, he continued as a senior university teacher, associate professor, and Vice-dean of the Faculty of Law. In 1973–1991, he was Director of the Institute of Forensic Science. He was a member of the group for the preparation of a draft Constitution and an expert of the Provisional Commission for Preparation of the Draft Constitution. In 1993–1996, he was a justice of the Constitutional Court, an associate professor at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University. He holds a PhD in law. In 1996–1999, he was a member of the Seimas and Chairperson of the Seimas Legal Committee. In 1999, he was once again appointed a justice of the Constitutional Court and worked in this capacity until 2008.
