Egidijus Jarašiūnas (1996–2005)

Egidijus Jarašiūnas was born in 1952. In 1979, after he had graduated from the Faculty of Law of Vilnius University, he worked as an advocate. In 1990–1992, he was a deputy of the Supreme Council-Reconstituent Seimas and a member of the Provisional Commission for Preparation of the Draft Constitution. He is a signatory to the Act on the Restoration of the Independent State of Lithuania. In 1992–1996, he was a member of the Seimas. Since 1999, he has been teaching in the Constitutional Law Department of the Law Faculty of the Law University of Lithuania. He holds a PhD in law. In 1996–2005, he was a justice of the Constitutional Court. In 2010, he was appointed as a judge of the Court of Justice of the European Union.
