  THE DELEGATION LED BY THE PROSECUTOR GENERAL OF HUNGARY MR. T.
    KOVACZ HAS VISITED THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF LITHUANIA

     The delegation led by the Prosecutor General of Hungary  Mr.
Tamas Kovacz has visited the Constitutional Court of Lithuania.
     The President of the Court Mr. Egidijus Kūris informed about
the  system  of  courts  in  Lithuania  and  the  place  of   the
Constitutional  Court  in  it. Prosecutors  were  presented   the
competence  of  the  Constitutional  Court  of  Lithuania,    the
appointment of the Justices and the possibility to introduce  the
institute of a constitutional appeal.
     Guests,  including  the general appeal prosecutor Djor   Mr.
Istvan Vincze and Director of International and European  Affairs
of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Hungary Mrs.  Magdolna
Hajdu  were interested in the cases examined by the Court and  in
the  circumstances,  under  which,  other courts  apply  to   the
Constitutional Court.
     The  Justices  of  the  Constitutional  Court  Mr.   Armanas
Abramavičius,  Mr  Vytautas Sinkevičius, Mr  Romualdas   Kęstutis
Urbaitis and the Prosecutor General of Lithuania Mr.   Algimantas
Valantinas have attended the meeting as well.
